The last Blog of the year

The Government of the United Kingdom defines a sustainable community in its 2003 Sustainable communities are places where people want to live and work, now and in the future. They meet the diverse needs of existing and future residents, are sensitive to their environment, and contribute to a high quality of life. They are safe and inclusive, well planned, built and run, and offer equality of opportunity and good services for all. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sustainable_communities

Abave is the definition from inernet but I would have said the same thing. However, my (SOA) is Milton Keynes, my area is Conniburrow, is within Milton Keynes 009A in Bradwell ward in Milton keynes Local authority in the south east region.

When it come to transpotation, my home is fits in with the difinition of sustainable community, because, it is 5 minits to city centre which I can get buses or walk easly. But another area like crime is very dangerous! especially when you have children, they can easly adupt that bad behaviour.
Personally I find the thought of the elections and voting extremely confusing and I am one of those people who don't vote. I do not feel that i have enough knowledge on the political parties to make a judgemental choice on who to vote for, therefore my attitude concerning those who are not planning to vote in the general election is minimal. I feel that if someone doesn't want to vote, then that's up to them, however when it comes down to it, if they aren't happy with the way the country is being run then they have no right to complain as they could have voted.

The reason why I don't want to vote I don't know, could be the corruption where I am coming from, that's peace me off. However, I beggin to be interested about it since i came to UK, because the system is defferent, therefore, I may change my attitude not to vote at all.

My views about transportation

Transport is the most important tool to everybody, it makes life esier and save time. In addition everyone needs tranport to move his life moving on. However, my views is quite different in transportion, intens of students who most of us have our own cars, that, we need to change our lifestyle and use the public transport, because it does't cost much, and also, it convinient as well.

Peronally I think there is possibility of changes that could make our transport system more sustanable.

Firstly, all student should encourage not to use cars most of the time insted they should be encouraged to use buses, cycling or walk for those who live near by school.

I know this could be hard for most of students and could take longer to be accepted, but if they will keep on advesing them they will be in track at the end of the day.

Therefore personally I feel that could make our present transport system more sustanable.

Happy Christmas & New year. I think Christimas is one of oppotunity that we all have to make a big push at being more sustanable. Very often we can save our money by doing it- but it make that initial effort to re-examine how we do all sorts of things in order to waste less money and resources.

However, recycling should be a big part of most of our lives now-

and this christimas will be a big test for me. There wil be no christimas cards

or gift packaging in the wast bin in my house. I am determine to prove

to myself that sustanability is something that we should aiming for all year.

There is nothing wrong to have the right all over the house, as long as we remember to swich off when we don't need it, like when we go to bed.
That can help us to save electricity and huge bills, which is always pailing up at the end of the month. In addition we should make it a habit to swich of the right when isn't needed not only christimas time. Marry Christimas every one.

Blog 4, How the news concerned about Climate change

For the first time this year, the news and newspaper have been talking about Climate change, specially this week. Copenhagen has announsed to act on climate change.

However, Danish prime minister, Lars Loekke Rasmossen has discribed the UN climate summit in copenhagen as an opportunity the world can't afford to miss. About 100 Leaders are to attend the meeting in Copenhagen.

This information has been in the news almost for 14 days now, and that shows that, news and newspaper now understand the impontance of talking about climate change some how. This is not enough, because they may not talk about it in next 4 months, because the Copenhagen meeting will be over.

However, from my own perspective, our newspapers are not coverirng all the seriouse issues expected to be covered. Most of the newspapers are concentreting of celebreties on their love affair issues, forgeting about the importance things like climate change etc.

All the media, newspaper are thinking how to make money by advaticing and promote their own busness.

To what extent do you think that it is your duty as a citizen to be informed?. Are you informed? how do you get informed about serious isses? To what extent do you think that you should live the complicated decisions up to others.

It is a government's duty to make sure that, people in the society are informed about issus are going on across the cauntry, and around the wourld. In addition people need to be informed about serious issue that going on, therfore, it is their duty as a citizen to be informed.

However, some people rely on other people, they trust them even when they give them a wrong information about climate change etc, at the the end of the day, they don't make any changing in their life style.

Eg, if we go back and thing about Algore, and what he is talking about, "Global warming". He is talking about something that so many people are awere of it, most of them heard about climate change when the were young, but still they have to be informed abou it now again and again because something like climate change has caused so many disasters and more are still to come.

Even though some of sientifics are disagree, and also some people in the society ( individually) are disagree too, but the botom line is, the reality must be spoken out, weather they want to hear it or not.

People have to be informed about seious issus, like

Number of category 4 & 5 hurricunes has almost double in the last 30 years.

maralia which has spread to higher altitudes in places like Tanzania Kenya, Colombia

The flow of ice from glaciers in greenland has more double over the past decade

And also atleast 279 species of plants and animals arealready responding to global warning having closer to the pole. These are few serious issus that people has to be informed about.

Moreover, I pesonaly I am coming from Tanzania were Mountain kilimanjaro is, and I have being seen Mountain Kilimanjaro since I was a child, and the way I see now it is not like before, before it used to have full of ice but wich now day some has melt.

Again when you listened Bionj Lomborg who is talking much about the most important things that the would should think about like HIV/AIDS, Maralia, Munutrition and advice the Government should tackle.

Above is some of dissasters that has hapened, and still hapening but people has to get informed of them, so that they will chose the life style they want at the end of the day.
